What is family documentary photography?
How it works...
Forget stiff poses and matching outfits—this is not that kind of photo session.
A family documentary session is all about capturing your real life, just as it is right now. That means the messy breakfasts, the backyard adventures, the tantrums, the giggles, the quiet snuggles on the couch. It’s your everyday moments that tell the real story of your family, and that’s what I’m here to document.

What to expect...
We’ll chat beforehand so I can get a feel for your family and what a “normal” day looks like for you. Don’t worry—there’s no need to clean the house or plan anything fancy.
I come to your home (or wherever your life happens) and just hang out with you for a few hours. I’ll quietly photograph you as you go about your day—making pancakes, reading books, chasing toddlers, you name it.
I won’t ask you to smile at the camera. I’m not looking for perfect—I’m looking for real. I’ll gently guide things if needed, but mostly I’m just there to witness and document.
Afterward, you get a collection of honest, beautiful images that reflect the chaos, the connection, and the character of your family life right now. No filters, no pretending.
These sessions are relaxed, unscripted, and surprisingly meaningful. One day you’ll look back at these photos and see not just what life looked like—but how it felt.

I’m here for the belly laughs over breakfast, the muddy shoes after a nature walk, the Saturday morning pancake rituals, and the quiet snuggles on the couch. Whether it’s a trip to your favorite pizza spot, bedtime stories in pajamas, or chasing each other through the sprinkler, those are the memories worth holding onto.

Frequently asked questions
What exactly is a documentary session?
It’s a photo session that captures your family just as you are—no posing, no matching outfits, no pressure. Think of it like a slice of your real life, photographed in an honest and beautiful way.
Do we need to clean the house or dress up?
Nope. Please don’t. This isn’t about perfect homes or perfect hair. It’s about capturing your life as it is, in all its lovely, chaotic, realness. Just be yourselves.
What kind of moments do you photograph?
The little things. Making breakfast, reading books, wrestling on the floor, bath time, neighborhood walks—whatever’s part of your everyday. These are the moments that really tell your family’s story.
What if my kids melt down or things get chaotic?
That’s part of the story! Tantrums, messes, sibling squabbles—it’s all real, and often it’s those imperfect moments that turn into the most meaningful images.
